Stanhope State Hockey Tailgate

Join us for fun and fellowship with the Greater Des Moines Area chapters of the Stanhope State University Alumni Association for a safe and socially distanced tailgate before the 3:45pm game at Buccaneer Arena. Bring your own beverages, lawn chairs and don't forget to wear your Watermelon Gear! We'll have pulled pork nachos from the Jewell Market for everyone! The event, parking and admission is FREE. Masks are required to enter the game and tailgate (obviously off, when eating or drinking).

The 61st Stanhope Lions Club Watermelon Day

The greatest day of them all. The high holy day. The National Holiday for all Stanhopeans past and present. We'll be in the parade and then we're off to enjoy the BEST SMALL TOWN EVENT IN IOWA put on by the Stanhope Lions. Enjoy small town Americana at its finest. Free Watermelon is served starting at 1pm... just bring your own fork.

Wednesday Night in the Park

If it’s summer and it’s Wednesday evening, then it’s time for Wednesday Night in the Park in Stanhope. Live music, good food and fellowship for another great tradition like no other in Stanhope. This is actually one of the projects that we donate back a portion of our profits back to. On July 18, Stanhope State University faculty and students will be serving Warrior Dogs, Lars Burgers, Pie, Chips and a cookie for a free will donation.

Hamilton County Relay for Life

We're proud to be associated with these amazing heroes. We hope you'll join us to celebrate and remember. At Relay For Life events, no one faces cancer alone. We come together every year at more than 3,500 Relay events around the country to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers. Each Relay has special events and activities (many throughout the year) just for survivors and their caregivers, so they can connect with others and know there is a strong support system available to them.
